Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use Ovis on the web at ovis.adastra.love, on iPhone and iPad, or on Roku. By using Ovis or creating an account, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Ovis.
1. The service
Ovis streams classic public-domain films and series, original music videos, and independent films and premieres. Some titles are free. Some premieres can be rented or bought. We may add, change, or remove titles and features at any time.
2. Your account
- You need an account to save titles across devices and to rent or buy. Ovis uses the same login as Scrolls, so one login works for both.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
- Keep your password private. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- You can delete your Ovis account at any time in the app (Account → Delete Ovis account) or on the website. That removes your Ovis data but not your Scrolls account, unless you choose to delete that too. See the Privacy Policy for details.
3. Rentals and purchases
- Rentals and purchases are made on the Ovis website and processed by Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay and include any fees we charge. Taxes may apply.
- Rentals: you have 30 days from purchase to start watching, and 48 hours to finish once you first press play, unless the title page says otherwise.
- Purchases ("Buy"): you can stream the title for as long as Ovis offers it and your account stays open. You're buying a license to stream, not ownership of the film or a downloadable copy. If we ever have to remove a purchased title (for example, because the rights holder withdraws it), we'll try to give notice and may offer a refund or credit.
- Titles you rent or buy unlock on the website and in the Ovis apps when you're signed in to the same account.
- Refunds: if a title won't play or something went wrong with your order, email ovis@adastra.love within 14 days and we'll make it right, whether that's a fix, a replacement rental, or a refund. We also honor any refund rights your local law gives you.
4. Using Ovis
Ovis is for personal, non-commercial viewing. Please don't:
- copy, download, record, re-stream, or redistribute paid or original content, or share paid video links;
- bypass access controls, rental windows, or other protections;
- use bots or scrapers, overload our systems, or interfere with other people's use of Ovis;
- use Ovis to break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
5. Content and ownership
- Classic films and series are in the public domain and are provided courtesy of the Internet Archive.
- Music videos, premieres, and independent films belong to their creators and are licensed to Ovis for streaming. Don't reuse them without permission from the owner.
- The Ovis name, logo, design, and artwork we create belong to Ovis.
6. Submitting a film
When you submit a film, you confirm that you own or control the rights to it, including any music, footage, and artwork in it. Submitting doesn't grant Ovis any rights to stream your film and doesn't guarantee we'll accept it. If we want to stream it, we'll first sign a separate, non-exclusive agreement with you, and you keep ownership.
7. Copyright concerns
If you believe something on Ovis infringes your copyright, email ovis@adastra.love with the title, what you own, and how to reach you. We'll review it promptly and remove material where appropriate.
8. Apple devices
If you use Ovis on an Apple device, these terms are between you and Ovis, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms with the right to enforce them. Your use of the app must also follow the App Store's Usage Rules.
9. Disclaimers and liability
We work hard to keep Ovis running, but it's provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. Classic titles come from third-party archives and may vary in quality or availability. To the extent the law allows, Ovis isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Ovis in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we'll let account holders know. Continuing to use Ovis after changes means you accept them.
